I believe this won't cause you any troubles. Software Informer Client provides updates and Secunia offers security solutions. This way you will always keep an eye on updates and how they may influence your computer.
Why are there no recommendations on my list when I have 73 programs installed? I am getting a message that says: "Not enough data to generate recommendations."

The more you use the refresh button to update the information on the list with installed apps, the more data you''ll get and then you will get recommendations. In some cases, this data is gathered after a few updates regarding your installed applications.

Sometimes the server is under update and it does not allow connections. This is just a temporary issue.
